About our Berrimah line markers

At Top End Line Markers, we have been serving the line marking needs of the Northern Territory for more than 25 years.

As a locally owned and operated business, we’re proud of the mark we leave on the territory. Our team is committed to making it a safer place to work and live. In 2018, we won the Civil Contractors Federation NT, Sub-Contractor of the Year.

You can see our work across the Territory. From roads and highways to car parks and airstrips Top End Line Markers are there. We take care of warehouse safety marking, roundabouts, pedestrian refuge islands and school crossings, along with sports courts and pavement stencilling including disabled logos, pavement text and arrows. We line mark hot mix, asphalt and concrete surfaces with ease.

All our work is done to Australian Standards for line marking. The safety of both our employees and you, the public, is our main priority and to that end Top End Line Markers adheres to strict Work Zone Traffic Management, using internal management systems. These include daily work plans and safe working method statements (SWMS). We take pride in these safe work methods to ensure that our projects run efficiently.

Traffic management is a very important component of our work and all our line marking personnel are accredited in Work Zone Traffic Management 2 and 3, with a director of the company accredited in Work Zone Traffic Management Level 1. Our team takes safety very seriously.

We’re also accredited with CAL and PCCP. These accreditations ensure we have the financial capacity to carry on our work, as well as the knowledge and understanding of what line marking is required at each project. With our ECAAS certifications for safety, quality and the environment, we can handle just about anything. Our team continues to learn and develop new skills to ensure we can provide the level of workmanship our customers have come to expect.

Our Team

Patrick Coleman

Director—Finance & Administration
Pat started with Top End Line Markers in 1996 after leaving a career in banking and finance which saw him managing the National Australian Bank in Taree NSW, a 30 staff branch including home and business lending staff.

Patrick has a Cert IV in Work Health and Safety and a Diploma of Business Management.

Pat has overseen this company’s work health and safety program up to the certification stage of AS/NZS4801 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, OHSAS18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, ISO9001 Quality Management System and ISO14001 Environmental Management System, Painting Contractors Certification Program through the CSIRO in Melbourne and also Contractor Accreditation system for the NT Government. All systems ensure our company is a leader in the line marking industry not just in the Northern Territory but throughout Australia.

Damien Heaslip

Director—Road Operations & Planning
Damien started with Top End Line Markers in 1995. He has line marked in every region in the Northern Territory, Western QLD, Northern WA and East Timor.

Damien has a Cert III in Civil Construction Line Marking and holds WZTM Tickets Level 1, 2, 3 and 4. He has a vast knowledge of line marking across a broad range of areas including major highways, collector roads, streets, car parks and warehouses.

Damien has been instrumental in the setting up of traffic control in the Northern Territory. He has worked with the NT Government and used his traffic control expertise to work in the building, civil and mining industries. Damien’s knowledge of both the line marking and traffic control industries has put our company at the forefront of the industry in the Northern Territory.

Karen Coleman

Administration & Finance Manager
Karen has worked for Top End Line Markers since 2002 and took over the position of Manager in 2010.

Karen’s role is to ensure that all finance and administration areas are up to date in relation to debtor and creditor control, reconciliations of bank statements, tax (both BAS and group returns), superannuation returns, human resource forms.

Karen works very closely with our accountant on a monthly basis to ensure our finances and our business accounts are on track with all relevant legislative requirements.

Ian McMurtrie

Work Health & Safety Manager
Ian joined Top End Line Markers in 2011 after operating his own business which assisted many rural Victorian businesses come into line with the Victoria’s work health and safety legislation. Ian has 21 years’ experience in the work health and safety field working directly with Work Safe Victoria in his business and now has worked directly with NT Work Safe in his role with our company.

Ian holds a Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety, a Diploma of Environmental Science and Provisional Auditor Certificate for Occupational Health and Safety through REBQSA International.

Ian has been instrumental in getting our company up to date with the Australian Work Health and Safety legislation in particular with our certifications of AS/NZS4801 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, OHSAS18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, ISO9001 Quality Management System and ISO14001 Environmental Management System, Painting Contractors Certification Program through the CSIRO in Melbourne.

Kane Mola

Car Parks & Warehousing Manager
Kane joined Top End Line Markers in 2013 and is the youngest member of our core team. Since leaving school, Kane has had a variety of jobs in the insurance and hospitality industries, where he has honed his people skills to enable him to talk to our clients, both existing and new, to give them exactly what they need when it comes to car park and warehouse line marking.

Kane works closely with Damien Heaslip in operational programming and has completed a Cert IV in Business Management.

Adrian Miller

Highway & Road Line Marking Supervisor
Adrian joined Top End Line Markers in 2012 after working with the Australian Army and then Ace Traffic Control.

Adrian’s role in our company is to line mark major highways, city connector roads, city streets and rural roads. All of which have their own unique requirements in our high-risk industry. Adrian’s work has seen him travel to all parts of the Northern Territory in sometimes trying conditions. Adrian holds Work Zone Traffic Management Accreditation Levels 2, 3 and 4.

Stephen Colson

Car Parks & Warehousing Line Marking Supervisor
Stephen joined Top End Line Markers in 1997 and is currently the most experienced member of our line marking team and arguably one of the most experienced line markers in Australia.

Steve’s role in our company is line marking of car parks and safety marking in warehouses but with Steve’s experience there are not many areas that he hasn’t covered including major highways and street markings. He has a vast knowledge of line marking set out and painting across a variety of surfaces ranging from asphalt to grass and including high friction surfacing.

Steve holds Work Zone Traffic Management Accreditation Levels 2, 3 and 4 and helps train our junior line markers as required.

Our Line Markers & Labourers

All of Top End Line Markers’ on-site crew workers have obtained their Occupational Health and Safety White Card, a minimum of Work Zone Traffic Management Levels 2 & 3 and have been inducted to various high-risk sites across Darwin, including Inpex, Port of Darwin and Pattemore, among others.
